TONE: YELLOW
Yellow is my favourite colour! I've only just realised this very recently however, but the burst of joy and happiness it offers to any space is so enjoyable and brings a smile to many faces. It's an unusual colour to place within interior, only very daring and brave people would paint their walls this colour, but in very many instances this risk pays off (pictured below).
If I were to ever incorporate yellow into an interior, accessories would be the direction I would take. Whether that be through cushions, plant pots or larger items such as fridges and sofas. It can have a tendency to make a room look cold, especially living in the U.K. through the winter periods, and possibly through the unpredictable summer season too! The right tone needs to be found for the room and its surroundings, Naples Yellow is a great go-to colour as it offers the brightness of Yellow without its slight harshness. It's a mellow-yellow!

Gamboge, a principle pigment first imported back in 1615, is the solidified sap of a Garcinia tree mainly found in Cambodia. When the pigment was brought back in 1832, experienced artists knew that this brownish pigment turned to Gamboge Yellow when a drop of water was added. The result being a bright, near fluorescent Yellow.
